In case of emergency, several courses of action may be taken with respect to court operations in Covington and Franklinton. Parish officials may order the closure of parish buildings including the courthouses. In those cases, court is cancelled and the Clerk of Court's office is closed. The chief judge of the 22nd Judicial District Court may cancel court in some cases of emergency. In this case, while there may be no court conducted, the Clerk of Court's office may be open.
