Allison Hopkins Penzato was elected to Division "H" of the Twenty-Second Judicial District Court in the fall of 2008.
Born in Bogalusa, Louisiana, Judge Penzato, age 51, is a native of the district. She graduated from Bogalusa High School in 1975, received a B.A. in government from Southeastern Louisiana University in 1977, and graduated from Loyola Law School in 1981. She served as law clerk to United States Magistrate Ingard O. Johannessen from 1979-1981. She was admitted to the Louisiana State Bar in 1981 and had twenty-seven years of litigation experience prior to taking the bench. Judge Penzato was a partner with the law firm of Talley, Anthony, Hughes & Knight, L.L.C. She served on the Young Lawyers Council of the Louisiana State Bar Association and has lectured on ethics and professionalism.
Judge Penzato is a graduate of Leadership St. Tammany, a past-president of the Junior League of Greater Covington and a former board member of the Youth Service Bureau.
Judge Penzato is married to Russell Penzato of Hammond, Louisiana and they have two children, Robin Penzato Arnold and Megan Penzato.
