Duty Judges; Allotments; Signings of Pleadings in Allotted and Non-Allotted Cases 

Description

Confirmation of default judgment may be taken by any division regardless of allotment.

All motions, orders and preliminary matters requiring hearing shall be filed and allotted to the proper division prior to being presented to the judge for signature and assignment.  If the Judge in the allotted division is unavailable, any matter which may be signed by a duty judge under Code of Civil Procedure Article 253.3 may be signed by any available judge who shall be the duty judge for purpose of that Article.  All pleadings requiring signature by a judge shall be presented by the attorney, or a member his/her staff, and not by the client.
